Description Hayam Wuruk became King of Majapahit Empire in 1350 with the title of Rajasanegara. Under his reign the Majapahit Empire reached its apex with good governance at all levels. The painting shows Hayam Wuruk traveling through his empire’s provinces to monitor matters. The royal caravan expedition in ox-carts with possibly hundreds of followers on foot started from the court of Majapahit on 8 September 1359 and covered 900 km over 2 months (https://www.iias.asia/sites/default/files/2020-11/IIAS_NL39_17.pdf) This painting is part of a series of two paintings (with #58).
