Description In this apotropaic composition (supposedly with the power to avert evil or bad luck) the central Arabic calligraphy

says “Laa ilaaha illallah Muhamadun Rosululloh” [“There is no God (Allah), but God (Allah), and Muhammad is the emissary of Allah”]

Glass paintings with such calligraphies and/or religious motifs –often with mystical significance—are placed in the house to protect the household.
