Japanese reverse glass painting landscape featuring a lake surrounded by hills and houses with high trees and in the background Mount Fuji, symbol of Japan. A unique feature of these and other Japanese glass paintings of that time are the collages of mother-of-pearl house roofs and boat sails as well as indented paper pictures of women in their kimonos (as also per below).
