Description | The banner of Cirebon Sultanate is called “Macan Ali” with Arabic calligraphy arranged to resemble a panther or tiger. The calligraphy reads Laa ilaaha illallah [“There is no God (Allah), but God (Allah)]“
In a syncretistic manner, the painting combines Arabic/Islamic elements with Hindu ones as expressed in the tiger banner of the Pajajaran Sundanese King Siliwangi Until his death in 2014, Rastika was the most known Indonesian glass painter. His son Kusdono is continuing his legacy. |
